Intro
First off, this is not the Hydra I am writing about, even though it would be pretty awesome if these were alive!!!
Muscular Systems of Hydras
Hydras do not have any true muscles, which means they do not have a muscular system. A hydra moves by leaning and putting the tentacles on it's head on the sea floor, and leaning again putting it's body on the sea floor. Thus, it appears to be somersaulting. Hydra have beadlike arms. Each one of those beads is a group of cells that contain tiny
venomous "harpoons" that harm and then take in any pieces of food that accidentally touch the hydra. When a hydra catches something, it reels it in to its mouth, just like a jellyfish.
