The Muscular SystemThe muscular system of the earthworm consists of two muscles that allow for movement. The longitudinal muscle is the layer of muscle under the skin of the earthworm, and the circular muscles are located under the longitudinal muscles. The longitudinal and circular muscles work together in order to contact and expand to allow for a wave-like movement.
